Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM)
Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) is a mid-size academic center with a high ranking among the Italian universities. It includes 5 Faculties: Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, Economy, Science and Agriculture. The organization is subdivided into 12 Departments for a total amount of 523 units among professors of I, II level and fixed-term researchers. The Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (DIISM) will participate in the project with the Mechanical and Thermal Measurement Group (MTM). Main areas of research are connected with development and application of new sensors and sensor networks, experimental techniques for clinical and biomedical use, indoor environmental and structural monitoring, non-destructive measurement and testing and design and development of embedded systems. Main fields of application of interest for the project are: smart sensors for indoor environments, measurement of biomedical and physiological signals, building energy and comfort monitoring, non-contact measurement techniques and data analysis. The research group participating in this consortium has large experience in European Union Projects (since 1990’s), international and national co-funded projects. The group has authored many international publications in the field of non-invasive measurement techniques, sensors and biomedical/clinical signals monitoring. DIISM is also very active in the organization of national and international conferences and seminaries.
Competences and role in the project. UNIVPM will participate to the project defining accurate measurement sensors, for the monitoring of user’s behaviour and well-being, to introduce in the architecture and developing an ICT sensor network of integrated devices through the platform.
