AAL-Call-2018 ‐ Smart Solutions for Ageing well, RESILIEN-T project

    The University of Toronto is a world top 20 higher education institution with an extremely successful track record of research funding. In RESILIEN-T UofT will be represented by the Departments of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OS & OT) and Psychiatry. Both departments are focused on improving people’s lives: OS & OT through enhancing and maintaining individuals’ residual skills and Psychiatry through interventions to tackle significant mental health challenges. Both departments are world leaders in innovation with OS & OT housing the Intelligent Assistive Technology and Systems Lab (IATSL) as well as partnership with Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI), home of the cutting-edge iDAPT Centre for Rehabilitation Research. The research group participating in this consortium have extensive experience co-creating technologies with older adults with cognitive impairment through European (AAL_WELL, IN-LIFE) and Canadian projects (CCNA, AGE-WELL) and collaboration agreement with a local memory clinic.

    Competences and role in the project UofT will lead on the field trials, as well as contributing to user engagement and the development of self-management functions.
